Local Government Authority in Victoria Chooses Zycus for its Source-to-Contract Digitization

Melbourne, Victoria, May 15, 2020: Zycus, a global leader in AI-driven Source-to-Pay suite, is pleased to announce the signing of a 4-year contract with one of the largest councils in the state of Victoria aiming to bring efficiencies in their procurement, contracting and supplier management processes.

The city council has 1,300 staff focused on providing multiple services from arts and cultural programs to tourism, urban planning, capital works and maintenance, recycling, and waste management. The council has over 3000 registered suppliers, 500 requests for quotes per year, 113 active tender contracts, and 60 – 80 tenders per year.

The Australian city council has a center-led procurement function that handles supplier and category management along with procurement governance and operations. Contract management and request for quotes (RFQs) are decentralized and managed within each business unit. The capability and knowledge of people to undertake these tasks vary widely across the branches, causing inconsistency in process and, in some cases, noncompliance to policy. There was a lack of automation for RFQs, generating inconsistency in process, lack of visibility, and inability to audit the process.

The key driver to procurement digitization was to bring consistency and compliance in procurement processes across all business units and to make it aligned to the city’s procurement policy and State Government legislation. The council wanted to reduce process inefficiencies and create a string online audit trail.

As part of this deal, the organization has licensed Zycus’ iSource, iContract, iSupplier, iPerform, iManage, and iRequest module.
