Designer and Manufacturer of Electronics Components Chooses Zycus to Achieve 360° Global Spend Visibility
PRINCETON, NJ – NOVEMBER 18, 2014 – Zycus, a world leader in Procurement Technology solutions across the Source-to-Pay cycle, announced today that the global designer and manufacturer of highly engineered electrical and electronic components will adopt its Spend Analysis solution.
With four strategic business units (SBUs) operating in parallel throughout North and South America, Europe and Asia, the Ohio headquartered company’s spend data is expressed in four languages – English, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese. An additional complexity challenge for this global organization is the need to normalize for diverse part-numbering systems (same parts, different numbers) specified in various automotive customers’ bills of materials (BOMs).
“Nonetheless, we conducted an in-depth proof-of-concept (POC) with Zycus to demonstrate to our SBU leaders that the results would be both accurate and valuable for supporting both global enterprise and SBU-level strategies and business performance objectives.”
“We knew from collaborating with Zycus in other complex global manufacturing environments that its AutoClass solution would be up to the tasks of rapidly and accurately normalizing our spend transaction data across multiple languages and analyzing product descriptions to ensure accurate classification of same and similar items with different part numbers,” says the program team leader. “Nonetheless, we conducted an in-depth proof-of-concept (POC) with Zycus to demonstrate to our SBU leaders that the results would be both accurate and valuable for supporting both global enterprise and SBU-level strategies and business performance objectives.”
“Back in the late 1990s,” says Zycus CEO and founder Aatish Dedhia, “when global corporations were just beginning to get serious about the idea of enterprise spend visibility, we foresaw that it would never be possible to fix or standardize the source data for spend analysis. We also understood that businesses – and their spending data – would continue to change over time. So, we built a Spend Analysis solution that would be undaunted by complexity and change. In the ensuing years, our model has acquired broad and deep expertise across many industry verticals (including automotive), which makes us uniquely qualified to address the most challenging obstacles that enterprise procurement teams face. We are excited to be supporting this new customer of ours on its journey to 360°global spend visibility.”
